First and foremost, we must apologize for the interruption of our presence online in the period 5 May – 20 June, which was due to causes entirely beyond our control: the company that was hosting myoldlady.com suddenly suspended the account without warning or explanation; they also failed to answer any of our abashed enquiries, so that we could do nothing but sit and watch the grotesque event unfold; apparently, a re-billing of our perfectly valid credit card had been momentarily rejected as a result of ephemeral impediments to transatlantic electronic transactions, but that was enough for those gentlemen to abruptly pull the plug on us –- and on our cherished, would-be returning or first-time visitors! -– without giving any further thought to the matter. And they had a very antipathetic limitation of liability clause in their terms (which we had naively accepted), so there is nothing we can do about the mishap legally. Fortunately, however, the “Old Lady” will from now on be able to count upon the services of a new hosting company which, by all tokens, appears to be made up of far more civilised persons.
